A Blogger’s Block is Bad for Your Reputation. Learn How to Improve
The worst thing that can happen with a blogger
is losing loyal readers on a continuous basis and not understanding why. When
this happens, a writer knows somewhere in his heart that the words he is
delivering are not as inflaming as they earlier were. They have lost their
magic, creativity, and punch.
That state induces anxiety that further causes
a blogger’s block. I have been working for a website development company as a blogger for almost one year now
and the block has made several attempts to hit me as well.
Unlike other writers, I try not to let my
anxiety drive my creativity and work towards a dead end. Instead, I have found,
experimented, and invented a few ways to shield myself when a blogger’s block
appears. Undoubtedly, it’s rare. However, if you don’t tackle it right when it
appears, the size of it grows bigger and bigger.
1. Too Much to Take Care of
A blogger’s life is comparatively slow going
than other professionals such as sales and management. Nevertheless, at the
peak time, the workload becomes too much daunting. Slowly, motivation converts
in anxiety which kills the creativity.
To tackle such a happening, the best thing a
blogger can do is to break down his tasks into a number of manageable and then
begin with the most important one.
2. When The Mood Becomes an Enemy
If taken seriously, writing is a tough task to
accomplish. Sometimes it needs hours of contemplation, minutes of alone time,
and seconds for some idea to hit the brain in a flash. But what when you are
completely out of your mood and still have to take care of certain tasks?
When that happens, keep doing your writing as
a job. Understand, that not all your writings have to be equally creative as
long as they do the job.
3. Chasing Perfection
There’s no doubt in every writer wants to be
the best, loved by their readers, and respected in the community. And to secure
that place, some of us begin to wildly chase perfection. Perfecting a sentence
for one to two hours sounds reasonable when you are a celebrated writer with no
constraints such as time and money. But when you have to write 1000 to 2000
words to write in a day, that becomes a luxury you simply can’t afford.
One of the renowned author - Margaret Atwood
once said that if she would have waited for perfection, she would never be able
to write a single word. Got the point here?
No matter if you are a web developer or a writer, a block can kill your creativity without
a prior notice. The easy way scientists suggest to get rid of a creativity
block are going for a walk, removing distractions, changing the perspective,
and listening to music.
